Finishing of the surface continued this week across the Phase 1 portion of the plaza, and they expect to work on it this Saturday September 27th. Sandblasting is expected to conclude on Monday. On Tuesday they will begin clean-up. Weather permitting sealants will be installed Wednesday and Thursday, and the plaza may open up on Friday, October 3rd. After that, we do expect tuck-pointing and masonry repairs, but that will be isolated and targeted – traffic will be able to resume around the zones they are working at.
Phase 2 continued with removal of the old concrete topping slabs and the waterproof membrane. Cleaning and prepping of the surface for repairs and installation of new waterproof membrane will proceed into next week. Also, our engineers with Wiss Janney Elstner will be inspecting the structural slab to determine if any repairs or restoration is needed. This includes the underside of the slab on 1P, which is the area of the garage which will be closing on October 1st.
If the weather we have had this week continues, we should see a great deal of progress over the next two weeks.
