At The Recent Resident’s Forum On January 24th, Questions Related To CTA Bus Routes And The Condition Of Sheridan Road Were Raised

Board President Michael Parrie reached out to the 48th Ward Alderwoman’s Office with some suggestions that came up.

Specifically he asked if it could be recommended that the CTA ask for the 92 bus to be go further up north to Bryn Mawr, like it did during the recent construction effort, instead of going only up to Berwyn?

Also, he requested consideration that Sheridan Road be paved from Irving Park Road to Bryn Mawr, due to uneven spots and holes.

The Alderwoman’s Chief of Staff Nicole Granacki responded:

“Thank you for reaching out with these important matters.

We are aware of the rough condition of Sheridan Road south of Bryn Mawr and are working on having it resurfaced as soon as possible. The Department of Water Management will be tearing up Sheridan Road in Summer 2026 for a critical infrastructure project, and as soon as their work is done, CDOT will come in with resurfacing. In the meantime, please continue to report potholes in 311 and we’ll continue to have them filled.

Report potholes in Chicago by calling 311, visiting 311.chicago.gov, or using the CHI311 mobile app to initiate a service request. The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) typically repairs reported potholes within 3-6 days, prioritizing busier arterial streets. Providing precise locations helps expedite repairs.

Methods to Report Potholes:

Online: Visit 311.chicago.gov.
App: Download the CHI311 app (iOS or Android).
Phone: Dial 3-1-1 (within city limits).
State Roads: For potholes on highways/interstates, call 1-800-452-IDOT(4368).

Key Information:

Tracking: You can track the status of your report using the CHI311 system.
Speed: While generally 3-6 days, repair times may increase during peak winter months or severe weather.
Alleys: Alley potholes can also be reported via the same 311 system.
Alternative Issues: Sinking pavement (sinkholes) or square, failed utility cuts should also be reported to 311.
