The weather has made it impossible for them to work on high rise buildings. They reported it will be at least another week before they can begin, and that is only if the weather begins to finally cooperate.
Recent weather and other logistics have pushed their anticipated start date a bit. For now the weather looks great for the upcoming week. So it is looking possible they’ll get through it pretty quickly.
Weather Permitting, the Week of October 27th
We’ve received word from our Window Washing vendor, they are gearing up to conduct our seasonal cleaning. The current weather outlook seems relatively cooperative, but as we know in Chicago things are prone to change on a dime. Precipitation or high winds would result in a delay, as safety of the window washers is paramount with this type of task.
As always, we do ask the vendor to start on the ’01 tier corner, and work around the exterior counter- clockwise progressing tier by tier. But weather conditions could dictate they switch to another tier. So, the best alert they are in route, is seeing their ropes drop outside your windows. If the weather cooperates, this work is typically done within 5 business days.
If the weather is chronically uncooperative – which it can and has been many times in the past – they will work on Saturday and Sunday as a last resort.
