Entry Canopy Repair Tuesday May

Work To Finish Repairs To The Canopy Over The Main Entrance Is Expected To Take Place Tuesday May 12th.

Damage occurred to the canopy early this year, both the roof and the metal siding. Treatment and painting of the metal remains. This is very weather permitting, as we do need moderate temperatures to complete the necessary work. If it is postponed, it would be expected to take place the next day and so on.

As residents, guests and anyone are coming and going, please plan for workers to be present and please prepare appropriately. Social distancing is expected, and consistent with the current Stay-At-Home order, everyone should be using a face covering.

We greatly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while this work is completed.

In case you missed it, the Chicago Tribune came out with a detailed investigative report this weekend regarding the financial malfeasance underlying the 2025 closure of Weiss Hospital and the 2026 closure of West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park. For multiple months we have received complaints regarding the homeless takeovers at several Uptown bus stops. The majority of the complaints have focused on the heavily used bus stop and bus shelter across from Aldi and Target, at the corner of Sunnyside and Broadway.Reader AK sent the following photos to illustrate the situation.
