They have been working on Service Car #5, and we’ve been told additional work is needed. They now expect to have the car back up and running by the end of day on Wednesday June 25th.
First, the good news is regarding Elevator #5, the needed part is expected in tomorrow (June 19th) and OTIS has scheduled the repair. It should be completed before the weekend, barring unforeseen challenges.
The bad news is a problem has arisen with car #4. It too requires a part, although that too is expected here tomorrow. They believe the problem can be repaired and the car put back into service by mid-day.
We realize with Elevator #5 there is a move going on so they are delayed as well as the staff working on projects, and of course everyone else coming and going. We sympathize with the difficulty and inconvenience these outages cause, and thank everyone for their patience.
We received word from the team at OTIS Elevator, that Elevator #5 was taking out of service last night. A part failed which is responsible for helping assure the cab stops at the correct floors and levels appropriately.
We were told the technician is securing the part, but also needs a team to help complete the necessary repair, which may take several days to coordinate.
We are waiting for more information from our reps with OTIS, and will follow up as more information comes available.
