AC Service Offline For Season
November 6, 2015
UPDATE Nov. 13th – Our cooling system has been drained for the season. AC service will not be available for the balance of the winter. We expect to perform routine maintenance and repairs, and refill the system when the weather begins to moderate in the Spring of 2017.
We will of course let owners and residents know when we expect AC service to be brought back online. Typically we watch the weather outlook closely. When the temperature outlook calls for sustained temps in the 60s and/or 70s, it is our goal to have AC available. Usually late March or into April.
ORIGINAL POST Nov. 6th – Our maintenance team is closely watching the weather outlook and calendar, mapping out a timeline for shut down of AC service for the season.
As we get closer to winter, the cooling tower on our roof needs to be drained. Particularly before below freezing temperatures are expected. Fortunately the weather has been mild this fall, and we have been able to keep the tower operational.
Besides winter weather, annual maintenance does need to be completed. The system that provides AC, including our Cooling Towers and Chillers, goes through several weeks of maintenance over the winter to insure the system is running as efficiently as possible. As anything ages, repairs are need to keep operations smooth and prevent problems down the road.
Tentatively, we are targeting the end of next week (Thursday November 12th or closely thereafter) to begin draining the cooling tower. After that, AC service is expected recommence sometime in the Spring.
