Brush Up On Our Emergency Procedures

Once again, we a reminded by recent events of the need for all our residents to be as prepared as they can be for the worst!

Resident Emergency Procedures April 2023

As we reported previously, we experienced a dumpster fire on the back dock on Thursday morning, very early. We’ve since confirmed this was indeed caused by a cigarette being tossed in the dumpster. While we appreciate smokers going outdoors, and many do, such carelessness must be avoided. We again strongly caution against the improper disposal of cigarettes.

The fire was contained by CFD rather quickly and posed no apparent danger to the building. Paint and some metal damage to the dumpster occurred, and it will have to be replaced.

In addition to being aware of the Emergency Procedures, both Owners and residents should be sure to keep us up to date with your contact information. This includes emergency contact information for those you would like us to reach in the event of an emergency or urgent situation.

In case you missed it, the Chicago Tribune came out with a detailed investigative report this weekend regarding the financial malfeasance underlying the 2025 closure of Weiss Hospital and the 2026 closure of West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park. For multiple months we have received complaints regarding the homeless takeovers at several Uptown bus stops. The majority of the complaints have focused on the heavily used bus stop and bus shelter across from Aldi and Target, at the corner of Sunnyside and Broadway.Reader AK sent the following photos to illustrate the situation.
