Broadway Resurfacing From Foster To Devon
August 16, 2016
Announcement from the office of 48th Ward Alderman Harry Osterman:
August 16, 2016
Dear Neighbor:
The Chicago Department of Transportation has informed my office that the Broadway Resurfacing Project will begin this week, most likely on Thursday August 18. The work, which will stretch from Devon to Foster Avenues, is scheduled to last approximately four weeks.
Parking restrictions went into effect today, with no parking allowed on Broadway from 6 am-4:30 pm Monday-Friday. (Parking is allowed during evenings and weekends.)
This very important infrastructure improvement project includes the following:
- Milling/asphalt removal – 1 week
- Leveling binder mix installation – 1 week
- All structure adjustments (for utilities, sewers, etc.) and flatwork (curbs, gutters, cement work) addressed – 1 week
- Asphalt resurfacing and pavement markings for lanes and crosswalks put in – 1 week
Note that all work is weather permitting.
The plan is to keep one lane of traffic open in each direction during work days and then to open traffic up to two lanes in each direction starting at 5 pm on weekdays and also over weekends.
If you have any questions, please contact my Chief of Staff, Dan Luna, at dan@48thward.org or by call my office at 773-784-5277.
Sincerely,Harry Osterman
Alderman, 48th Ward
