Annual Fire Safety Testing Efforts Begin March 16th
March 12, 2021
Annual operational and safety testing of our Fire and Life Safety System for 2021 is scheduled to begin Tuesday March 16th. In this first round, our fire pumps, garage sprinkler system and stand pipes throughout the building will be inspected and tested.
Residents may see workers and inspectors from time to time in the hallways and garage, and a fire truck out front along Sheridan Road when these lines are undergoing testing.
Our team with Fox Valley Fire & Safety will be coordinating this effort, which is intended to help insure readiness should our network of life safety devices and fixtures ever be needed. This initial phase of work compliments a whole series of activities we conduct every year to bolster our ability to protect life and property and withstand major emergencies. In coming months, this will including testing the main panel in the lobby, and devices throughout the building intended to help protect and warn Park Tower residents in the event of a fire or other major emergency.
There should not be any cause for concern and there should not be any interruption of residents day to day coming and going. Just be aware you may see workers and inspectors from time to time. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we conduct this important work. We apologize in advance should there be any unforeseen inconvenience.
ALSO A PART OF OUR EFFORTS FOR BETTER PREPAREDNESS – Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our Life Safety Seminar for Residents, Saturday March 27th at 11am. Click Here, for more about that.
