On the evening of Thursday May 23rd, in the Park Tower Party Room, Dan Luna of Alderman Osterman’s office and Developers MCZ presented revised plans for the development being considered for construction on the ‘Wing Hoe’ lot across the street from Park Tower.
Skeptical residents of the community presented questions about everything from what was happening with Wing Hoe (being relocated), to how much parking there would be (22 spots versus 44 units), to concerns about traffic, Sheridan Road, and a proposed curb cut. In the end, attendees of the meeting voted 44 to 8 in favor of the development. While not a formal or binding vote, Dan Luna indicated that both the topics and concerns in discussion, as well as the vote, would be information used to help inform the Alderman.
It was also shared that ASCO and the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce had officially expressed support for the development.
Members of the community are encouraged to express their views directly with the Alderman’s office, which can be reached at 773-784-5277 or Click Here to e-mail.
The office of Alderman Harry Osterman requested use of our 2nd Floor Party Room to hold the meeting. We are told to expect the developer to be presenting revised plans for the building planned for construction, based on feedback from past public meetings.
We anticipate a more formal announcement for the meeting will be distributed by the Alderman’s Office. In the meantime, please direct any questions to the office for the 48th Ward, 773-784-5277, or to send them a message Click Here.
