Hard for any 2p parkers to miss, since it’s right in the center of the garage and passes across both the main residential entrance as well as the door to the mall elevators.
Over the past year, the drain right at the intersection before the fire doors, as well as several adjacent drains, have been problematic. They’ve either drained slowly or not at all, requiring constant maintenance. Despite rodding and professional servicing, our team was unable to permanently resolve these clogs. When rodding was done, it was clear there was a clog or obstruction of some kind, which routine equipment could not clear or get around to free up the effected drains.
So it was determined at least a section of the line would have to be excavated, and a portion of the line cut open to determine the cause. Fortunately we did! Our team found a section of the drain had actually collapsed, which resulted in the obstruction and back ups. Not only that, some water would actually be able to seep into the ground underneath the parking lot, which is not healthy for the concrete.
Below, Park Tower’s staff plumber Louie coordinates with workers as they complete excavation, inspect the old line and prep to install the new drain line.
The bulk of the work is now done. As of Friday February 2nd, the work area is being closed up, new concrete is being poured and we expect the area will be completely cleared and back to normal by Monday February 5th.
We realize this has been a hassle for our 2p parkers. Especially those parked around this location. We appreciate your patience and understanding while this important work was completed.
