“Dear Neighbor:
Public safety is my number one priority as alderman. My office works closely with the Chicago Police Department to address safety issues within our community. In addition, we work with many community partners to provide a full calendar of outdoor events throughout the ward that provide positive and safe activities for families and teens. Click here to see the full calendar of Safe Summer Nights events. In addition to positive community programming, neighbors must remain vigilant. It is critical that you call 911 if you observe illegal or suspicious activity. We have fostered strong partnerships with the 20th and 24th Police Districts, and it is vital that we uphold our end of the relationship by informing them of any criminal activity we see. If you have any questions about public safety in the ward, please contact Marko Zaric at marko@48thward.org. Please also mark your calendar for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1. See below for more information on local events on National Night Out.
Tonight is the kick-off of the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce’s Edgewater Night Out series. Every Friday night through August 18 from 5:30 to 7:30pm, the Chamber is sponsoring live entertainment and activities on Broadway, with free treats for the first 50 kids to arrive. Tonight’s entertainment is Lil’ Buds Theatre in front of Edge Theater, 5451 N. Broadway, with treats provided by Maddiebird. Upcoming events include Storytown Improv, live music and dance from Pivot Arts, garden gnome painting, and more. Click here for the full schedule…..”
