The present contract for bulk cable and internet service expires March 31, 2024 so the effort is underway to get a plan in place in advance of that date.
At the February 13, 2023 Board Meeting, the Board elected to form an Ad-Hoc Commission (which we’ll call a taskforce just to be fancy) to begin exploring whether to renew the present contract or to gear up to put the contract out to bid and potentially change to another provider. Such a taskforce will be asked to conduct research into available services, meet with vendors if necessary, conduct a survey of residents to understand how the community feels about the present service and potential services, and ultimately make recommendations to the Board.
The Commission is expected to get rolling as soon as they form, meeting as regularly as necessary to make these considerations and hopefully have a recommendation to the Board in time for budgeting considerations in the late Fall.
If you have any questions, or would like to volunteer for appointment to the task force, please e-mail me at tpatricio@habitat.com.
VOLUNTEERS – Because this effort involves a contract for Association business which could impact the level of assessments, the Board is looking for participation by Unit Owners. Anyone who would like to, or believes they can contribute beneficially to this process is welcome and encouraged to a provide a short ‘resume’ including any qualifications you may have in your background which may assist in this process, as well as any other thoughts or information you feel are relevant to share with the Board as they consider who to appoint.
