Virtual BINGO! Saturday June 6th 4pm
June 6, 2020
The PTCA Social Commission Presents, Virtual BINGO, Saturday June 6th, via ZOOM Meetings online at 4pm.
To Play Virtual BINGO This Evening:
- If you RSVP’s and requested a card in advance, you should have received your unique Bingo card from Sheldon with the Social Commission (e-mail s-atovsky@sbcglobal.net), the Commission would have forwarded you your card. You just click on the attachment to that email and it will pop up. Notice your card is labeled with a 3 digit ID number.
- To play, print out 1 copy of the card (for all three games) or 3 copies (one for each game). If you don’t have a printer available, email bobshamo@rcn.com that you’d like for him to print the card, and for him to slip it under your unit door. Be sure he knows your unit number!
- On June 6, Sheldon Atovsky and Monique Fouant will be the hosts. Sheldon will open up at 3:50 pm and look for all players to “join the meeting” by 4:00 pm.

https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81112538418?pwd=aXdLSlVCYTAwejVHZDVibDdzYTBxQT09
- If prompted, the password when joining by computer or smartphone is “Social” Follow the prompts to “Open Zoom Meetings” and “Join the Meeting” with video activated
Using audio only with, say, flip phone or wired phone?
- Dial (312) 626-6799
- When prompted, enter the Meeting ID 811 1253 8418 followed by the # sign
- When prompted to enter your Participant ID, just enter the # sign
- When prompted, the audio only password is “816792″
- Success is when you see/hear Sheldon and he acknowledges your arrival. You’ll be unmuted at first, but muted later. So plan to use the “Chat” button at the bottom of your screen, typing your comments/questions.
- Promptly at 4:00 pm Sheldon will review the cards and procedures for the games that follow. True, this is “Word Bingo,” but it works as you would expect. The call sequences will be different for each of the three games, and the first player to call out a verified “Bingo!” wins that game. Winning means having all the squares marked in a given COLUMN, LINE, DIAGONAL, X SHAPE, PICTURE FRAME — illustrated below — or whatever pattern is announced afresh, before each game begins.
- The winning card will be displayed onscreen, just as shown above. The winner simply names his/her card’s unique ID number. If time allows, we may even continue with another call or two, to find a runner-up. The Bingo game we’re using was created by https://myfreebingocards.com. Techies who check it out will see that the games can also be played entirely online in a “Virtual Bingo” format. Virtual is very cool, but this first time we’ll be using paper cards, making things as familiar as possible.
