As promised, we have a lot going on this Spring, and here is a one stop shop of updates on some of the work continuing, planned or underway.

1. GARBAGE CHUTE

The Garbage Chute project is 100% completed. If you observe anything on your floor that we may have missed, please contact the office and we will check it out.

2. GARBAGE ELEVATOR LIFT

You may have noticed all the dumpsters in the back, while Otis is completing the cylinder replacement project for the lift used to bring the dumpsters up from 1p. Otis has advised us this project is completed. However, we are waiting for the City inspector to sign off. We are tentatively expecting his visit on Tuesday March 24th. Assuming the lift passes inspection, the staff will be able to return the dumpsters to the garbage platform on 1p.

3. ELEVATOR CAB #3 – Cable Replacement

Otis has confirmed the cables serving elevator #3 will be replaced next week. They will be working behind the scenes on Monday, March 23rd, and Tuesday through Friday the actual replacement is anticipated. While they expect to complete this by Friday, it is conceivable unknown conditions may be identified. With any luck, Cab #3 will be back up and running sometime Friday. Once we know, we will post an update.

4. DRIVEWAY AND EXTERIOR WORK

As owners and residents have undoubtedly noticed, workers have started completing the plaza/driveway project as weather has permitted. Our staff is completing the can lighting at the base of the columns. The contractor will be tuckpointing the wall adjacent to the circle driveway, installing the vertical plaza paneling, and several punchlist items including replacing the top coat on a number of the plaza squares.

As we reported previously, ComEd is scheduled to begin the vault repairs along the Sheridan Road sidewalk. That could begin any week now, and from start to finish could take as long as 90 days once it gets started.
