Dear Neighbor:
Today is World AIDS Day, an annual event that provides an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV/AIDS, show their support for people living with HIV/AIDS and to remember those who have died. I’d like to highlight organizations in our community that have been supporting people living with HIV/AIDS for over two decades: TPAN, Vital Bridges, and Chicago House. I’d also like to invite you to attend the 10th annual World AIDS Day Performance benefiting Alexian Brothers’ Bonaventure House, the Lakeview residential care facility for those living with HIV/AIDS. All are welcome to the 7pm performance at Church of the Atonement, 5749 N. Kenmore. See below for more information.
Tonight my office is hosting an Open Mic Night for youth in our community. This event is part of an ongoing effort to give a voice to the youth in our community and to provide them with positive and productive opportunities. Open Mic Night is tonight, Friday, Dec. 1, 6pm at the Latin School-sponsored community space at 4956 N. Sheridan. Click here for more information, and please share with any interested teens you know….”
