Do you ever look at someone and wonder what’s going on inside their head? Disney Pixar’s Inside Out (2015) takes a rollicking journey into the mind to find the answer. Based in Headquarters, the control center of 11-year-old Riley’s mind, five emotions are hard at work, led by lighthearted optimist Joy. Joy strives to make sure Riley stays happy as she operates alongside fellow emotions Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. It’s an “instant classic,” raves Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times.
The 2nd Floor Party Room opens at 4:45 pm, with fresh popcorn for early arrivers (and discreet English subtitles for those who sit close). Promptly at 5:00 pm we’ll have a show of hands as to who wants what kind of pizza at Intermission. And by 5:10 or so we should be underway, with Intermission halfway through and easily done by 7:30 pm. Free, of course, for Park Tower residents and their families.
May we say one more thing? Let’s say you’re an adult with no kids living in the building, and it’s been awhile since you’ve actually watched an animated film. You’d be amazed by the level of emotional intelligence expected of children nowadays and engendered by worthy media like Disney-Pixar. Come, watch. One eye on the movie, the other on the kids!
