Directed by Steven Spielberg, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial is the thrilling, deeply moving story of the special friendship that develops between 10-year-old Elliot and a wise, benevolent visitor from another planet who becomes stranded on earth. As Elliot attempts to help his extra-terrestrial friend contact his home planet so he might be rescued, they must elude scientists and government agents who want E.T. for their own purposes. This results in an adventure greater than either could have imagined. As Spielberg writes, the film is about “a boy who learns how to love and how to communicate.”
“Spielberg’s family classic is still one of the best,” says Common Sense Media.
