The Social Commission presents an interactive multi-media talk and presentation, Aging with Autonomy, Community, and Purpose at Park Tower: Ideas from Atul Gawande’s book, Being Mortal, on Wednesday, October 21, 7 pm on Zoom. Pamela Woll MA, CPS will be giving the presentation, and David Folkes, MA, LCPC will be doing some short readings from the book.
Pam is a long-time Park Tower resident, and David, her fiancé, moved in when Pam returned after five years taking care of her aging mother. When they read Atul Gawande’s book Being Mortal, it brought home some of the things that make life worth living at any age—big things like autonomy, community, and purpose. Then it occurred to them that a lot of folks at Park Tower might like the option to continue to live fulfilling lives here into their old age.
Pam and David will present some of Gawande’s challenges and ideas in an interactive, multi-media presentation, leaving plenty of time for discussions and questions. We recommend Pam’s thoughtful Study Guide as preliminary reading (https://www.ptcondo.com/201021-study-guide/)
