The Office Of Alderman Harry Osterman Reminds Seniors They Are Eligible To Apply for their Senior Homeowner Tax Exemption!

As many of our senior owners are already aware, the Alderman’s Office processes the annual Senior Citizens Sewer Rebate for Owners in the 48th Ward.  Of the many forms they’ve received this year, the Alderman’s aid Jerry Goodman reported he’s noticed a number of seniors have not applied for their property tax exemptions.

Therefore, he’s asked us to spread the word – QUALIFIED SENIORS are entitled to an exemption on their property taxes.  The basic form is attached Click Here, and more forms and information you can visit the assessor’s site online at:

The application needs to be submitted every year by owners who live in the location as their primary residence. While the reminders are typically sent to everyone in January, they’ve reported a slump in applications.
