URGENT – Recent Events At Neighboring Buildings And Elsewhere In The City Underscore The Need to Be Aware Of Your Surroundings And Stay Vigilant At All Times
We have been advised of multiple attempted and even successful break-ins at condos neighboring Park Tower. Also, we are told this is happening elsewhere throughout the city.
According to reports, on November 29th, 3 individuals, two women and one man, attempted to force their way into one building, armed with a piece of rebar. The door attendant was assaulted but fortunately the perpetrator was apprehended by the authorities.
There are also reports of an unidentified individual entering another neighboring building and attempting to enter several units last week. They were allegedly successful in entering one unit and stealing cash. CPD is currently investigating this situation. It is believed the assailant entered the building by going in behind residents who were exiting.
Finally, the Habitat Company has advised of similar events at other highrises, including one case where an assailant entered a building multiple times. On the second attempt, this individual was successful in breaking into multiple units.
We ask that everyone remain vigilant:
FOLLOW ALL ENTRY PROCEDURES AND PLEASE BE UNDERSTANDING AND RESPECTFUL IF A STAFF MEMBER ASKS YOU TO IDENTIFY YOURSELF
DON’T LET ANYONE IN THAT YOU DO NOT KNOW, EITHER THROUGH PUBLIC DOORS OR YOUR OWN
KEEP YOUR DOORS LOCKED AND BOLTED AT ALL TIMES
Also, report any suspicious activity you may witness. Please call 911 and then contact the staff if you learn of or suspect any attempted break-ins. During business hours you can reach the office at 773-769-3250, and after hours the front desk at 773-769-3083.
Alerts have gone to all our staff and security personnel as well. Our team will keep our eyes and ears open as we always do.
We appreciate everyone’s attention to this very important matter.
