NORTH LAKE SHORE DRIVE/REFINE THE DRIVE PROJECT
See link below for article. Visit website www.nlsdinput.orgThe North Lake Shore Drive project wants your input. It has a plan to modernize seven miles of North Lake Shore Drive from Grand to Hollywood.
Efforts are to revamp both traffic and shoreline issues on Lake Shore Drive with possibly creating a separate bus lane. There are 5 different proposals that vary the number of traffic lanes and bus lanes as well as whether drivers will be able to pay to use the bus lane. The first proposal keeps existing number of general purpose traffic lanes. Other proposals reduce car traffic to 2-3 lanes with a separate bus lane. The website explains the proposals.
Community participation/comments will began from Monday, Oct. 5 to Monday, Nov. 9. Please read link for article, visit website and after, sign up for a webinar to give input, make comments. According to the article, webinar will last 60 minutes, and host 20 people. Or if you do not wish to participate in the webinar, you can make online comment from their website.

If you have not already heard, big changes to Lake Shore Drive and its surroundings are being proposed and considered, right in our backyard. Now the team making these considerations want to hear from the public.

Help us continue to improve North Lake Shore Drive!
Let your voice be heard! The Illinois Department of Transportation and the Chicago Department of Transportation invite you to provide feedback concerning the improvement of U.S. 41 (North Lake Shore Drive) from Grand Avenue to Hollywood Avenue in Chicago. Since the last public meeting, the project team has evaluated criteria and narrowed the range of alternatives. We want to hear from you! Due to ongoing health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, this Public Meeting (#4) will be conducted online through an interactive website. There are multiple opportunities to provide feedback!

We have created a clearinghouse of materials, interactive exhibits, and an audio-visual presentation to provide a refresher on the project and help you review project updates. The interactive site is live:
Input can be provided through the interactive website in multiple ways:
· Use the interactive map to comment and provide input on the proposed improvements
· Complete a survey to tell us how you use the Drive and lakefront and share your priorities
· Review the project exhibits and leave notes in the comment area
· Sign up for a small group discussion with the project team
