Twice a year, you may experience some degree of television interference due to “sun outages.” Such outages are caused by a phenomenon called a “solar satellite interference.” These brief outages occur when the sun passes directly behind satellites transmitting cable signals. When the sun is aligned with a satellite, solar radiation, an energy the sun is emitting, interferes with the satellite’s signal and thus causes a brief signal outage.
Sun outages occur every year, in Fall and Spring, and last approximately about a week each time. This Fall, sun outages are expected during the period of October 4 through October 12, 2016.
During the sun outage, you may experience a pixelated picture, picture freezes, or audio distortions for a brief period of time.
The sun outage happens only during the day between 11am and 5:30pm (no sun, no interference) and is brief, lasting for a few minutes—from 5 minutes, up to 45 minutes.
RCN apologizes for any inconvenience a sun outage may cause. However, solar satellite interference is out of our control. Please be patient and everything will get back to normal. If you have question about sun outages, please contact RCN.

Courtesy of a reader, we saw the last elements of Dear Flo's being ported away yesterday morning. Courtesy Reader RJMThe front patio space, which made its debut with the former Kal'ish, was one of the last elements remaining from the three former restaurants that occupied the space (Kal'ish, Sephardic Sisters, Dear Flo's). When we broke news of Dear Flo's apparent demise last week, the Instagram page was still up and accessible, but that is gone is well, all but confirming that Dear Flo's is no more. It's a great space and a wide sidewalk, so we are hoping for a new tenant soon! P.S. [...]
The side yard of 4616 N. Magnolia (Real Estate Listing) From Ald. Clay's latest email:"A potential buyer of 4612 N. Magnolia is seeking a zoning change to re-zone the property from RS-3 to RT-4 in order to build a six-flat at the location of the current side yard of 4616 N. Magnolia. The side yard is currently owned by the owners of 4616 N. Magnolia, and the sale of the side yard is contingent on approval of the zoning change. The existing building at 4616 N. Magnolia - which is beautiful! - would not be impacted by the development. The proposed development [...]
