UPDATED November 27th
Please Do Your Part – Making these changes successful requires residents and Owners to help and be a part of this transition:
- Take your fob with you when you leave the building.
- Ask guests to make sure they bring – and be ready to present – their picture ID.
- DO NOT EVER, prop doors open. This includes any door, but especially if it is a fobbed entrance. Having your contractor prop open the back dock door, for example, while they make a delivery to your unit, so they can more easily get in and out, makes these extra measures pointless.
- DO NOT EVER, let someone you do not know follow you in secured entrances.
- If you see something, say something. For example, a Unit Owner came to the office recently, after observing the dock door being propped open by movers. Just anyone could have come in.

ORIGINAL POST November 13th
IMPORTANT – To All PTCA Owners & Residents,
We are writing to formally introduce the new security measures being implemented in the building starting Friday, November 15th, 2024.
These changes are part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the safety and security of all residents, staff, and visitors.
Following is a summary of the key changes you can expect:
- Lobby Revolving Doors Locking Hours
- The revolving doors in the lobby will be locked from 11:00PM to 6:00AM daily.
- During these hours, residents and their guests will need to enter AND exit via the North Lobby ADA automatic doors. This entrance will be accessible only by fob or through intercom/buzzer admittance. Visitors must be clearly visible to the security personnel via the camera above the exterior door. Residents may also continue to exit via the South lobby door by the low-rise mailboxes.
- Mall Entrance Locking Hours
- The mall doors will be locked daily at 6:00 PM to further limit access to the building after hours.
- Loading Dock Locking Hours
- The Loading Dock Entrance will be locked 24/7 and will require fob access or intercom/buzzer admittance.
- Non-resident visitors will need to use the intercom/buzzer system to gain entry and must be clearly visible to the security personnel via the camera above the exterior door.
- Vendors and Contractors will only be admitted if the resident or owner has provided a Permission to Enter form, or if the resident or owner has personally confirmed the visitor’s entry by phone. (Permission can be issued by e-mail as well.)
- Like guests at the front desk, Vendors and Contractors at the loading dock will be granted access once their identity and purpose are confirmed.
- Contractors, such as movers and hired construction workers, can sign out fobs in the Management Office for the day. They will have to use a government issued ID for collateral. Failure to return the fob by day’s end may result in charges to the owner.
What You Can Do to Help With a Smooth Transition:
To ensure you are prepared, we ask for your cooperation with the following:
- Always carry your fob and whenever possible your cell phone or a government-issued ID to access building entrances. A government-issued ID will be needed if you forget your fob and a staff member does not recognize you as a resident of the building. A cell phone is a good alternative too, as we can confirm your number.
- Set up Permission to Enter documentation in advance by filling out the Permission to Enter Form at the Front Desk or Management Office for your guests and contractors. Alternatively, you can also email details to the Management Office.
For a current permission to enter form, Click Here. For this and other PTCA useful forms and documents, you can also visit the PTCondo library here.
- ALWAYS Inform your guests to bring a government-issued ID with them when visiting and notify them of all expected security measures in advance. Please urge your guests to be cooperative and understanding with the staff.
- Stay vigilant: We encourage all residents to continue to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity to building management or security.
- Please patient and understanding during this transition period. The goal is improved security for the community. By working and cooperating together, the property and all persons here at Park Tower will be better protected.
These changes are designed to enhance the safety and security of all residents, guests, visitors and staff in the PTCA community. They are meant to complement recent surveillance system improvements including about 10 new cameras, and we expect more to come around the corner. We appreciate your attention, cooperation and understanding as we implement these measures. Everyone’s patience and vigilance during this transition period will help ensure we improve and protect the living experience at Park Tower.
