Here in Chicago of course, we did not get to enjoy the “Totality” event which other parts of the country experienced. Chicago will not be in the path of totality for a Total Solar Eclipse until September 14th, 2099. Though, other locations in and around the United States will experience a number of such eclipses between now and then. To learn more visit:

However, the sun and moon still put on quite a show on Monday, April 8th, and there was a pretty decent turnout:
During a partial solar eclipse, the Moon, the Sun and Earth don’t align perfectly. Only part of the moons shadow, the ‘penumbra’, is cast on Earth. It appears like the moon takes a slow moving bite out of the sun.
We heard stories about animals – dogs, cats, squirrels, birds and such behaving strangely during the event. We did have a couple neighborly critters visiting, but they seemed to be just enjoying the pond like conditions in the park:
If you have any pictures from the eclipse, or for that matter any pictures of Park Tower, the neighborhood or City, feel free to share them at parktowercondo-mgmt@habitat.com.
