REMINDER
This year, the City of Chicago established a Property Tax Rebate program to provide property tax relief for qualifying residents citywide. The program was created to help qualifying Chicago homeowners offset some of the increase in their property taxes.
The standard rebate provides such owners between $25 and $200, based on the increase in the City’s portion of their most recent property tax bill and their household income.
Here are the basics in order to qualify:
There are 26 locations (and City hall) where qualified home owners can apply. For those of you who live in Park Tower, you can go to Northside Community Federal Credit Union at 1011 West Lawrence.
You must have:
Applications will be accepted at any of the neighborhood locations and City Hall through November 30, 2016.
I spoke to one owner who said the process took him about 20 minutes, and he received a $100 rebate.
