The contractor hired to coordinate the replacement of the main pool’s liner has scheduled work to begin. To start the process the pool will begin being drained Saturday June 17th at 9pm.
VERY UNFORTUNATELY, because the pools are tied in together, this means the kiddie pool will also be drained and unavailable for use.
We are waiting for additional details. But in general, we expect the process to unfold over the course of about 4 weeks. Preparations will begin after the pool has drained, on Monday June 19th. The interior walls and bottom of the pool will be tested and inspected to determine how much surface preparation is needed and whether any structural repairs should be considered. Preliminary inspections have yielded positive results so far, but nothing definitive can be determined without the pool being drained. The results of this inspection work will be pivotal in determining with more certainty how long this project will take.
Tentatively, Monday June 26th, we expect the bulk of the work to begin. Once the surface of the existing liner is prepped as much as it is needed, it will be overlaid with the new PVC liner. They expect this process – barring unknown conditions – to take approximately 3 weeks from start to finish. If all goes as planned, the pool could be refilled and heated sometime the 3rd week in July and reopened before the end of the month.
