Progress continued on the ramp, planter and revolving door. And we now expect the revolving door work to be completed on Wednesday September 10th. However, after inspecting the plaza area, we are asking the contractor to address several areas of the concrete aggregate where we have concerns about the consistency of the stone and mortar. They are expected to address this next week. So for the time being we are holding at 97%.
Temporary railings will be in and they will be allowing traffic to recommence on the plaza so the market and commercial units can be accessed at the North mall doors. Also, the ramp and stairs adjacent to the new planter are expected to be opened. and ready for use – though at times some work will be done as they complete the install of the lighting and railings.
THE CIRCLE DRIVEWAY WILL BE CLOSING FOR ABOUT 6 WEEKS…
As soon as Wednesday September 10th, demolition will begin on phase 2 in the Circle Drive.
Weather permitting, the driveway will be closed as the demo the sidewalk and drive surfaces, install the new waterproof membrane. Once that is in place and the contractor pours the new drive and sidewalk, it will be reopen. If we have learned anything from phase 1, it is that weather has been our worst enemy. We have lost about 6 weeks to the weather. A close second has been the unknown conditions, which we estimate we have lost about 10 working days too.
We recognize the inconvenience these projects can cause and greatly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while they have worked on phase 1 and transition over to phase 2. Do not hesitate to contact the office with any questions.
