Phase 1 finishing of the plaza surface is in its final stages. The weather held out right up until the point the caulking and sealer needs to be installed. That work will be completed once dry and mild conditions return. Once the sealer is down, the plaza doors will reopen, and traffic can resume on the plaza. The work does not stop there though. The masonry and tuckpointing will begin once the sealer is completed. On the Phase 1 side, this will take about 3 weeks (weather permitting), and traffic will only be blocked at the plaza doors on the days they are doing work around those locations.
The railing installation and some aesthetic finishing work on the Phase 1 side of the project will be completed at the end of Phase 2, in conjunction with the railings and finishing on that portion of the project.
Phase 2 continued as they completed removal of the old waterproof membrane. The contractor and our engineering team inspected the concrete underneath which very fortunately was found to be in relatively good condition. Removal and repair work at the areas needed is underway, and next week they will begin preparing the surface to install the new waterproof membrane. Repair work is also underway on the underside in the garage. We very much appreciate our parkers – whose spots are effected – understanding and cooperation while the work is being completed.
