We were blessed with perfect weather this week, and very thankfully it appears the bulk of next week will be cooperative as well. The contractor has reported that they are done grinding the mortar joints along the brick wall and have already started to “point”. That is, fill in the joints with the new mortar. Should the weather cooperate, they estimate that the bulk of the Masonry along the ‘phase 1’ side of the project will be done on Friday October 31st.
On the ‘Phase 2’ side of the driveway work, the structural concrete was poured and is now curing. They will begin clean up and preparations to install the new waterproof membrane next week. The new concrete will need to pass several test and demonstrate it is ready to receive the waterproofing. Once underway, the installation process will take about 4 days. Once the new membrane is down, they will conduct a series of leak tests to insure it is water tight. After that, they will begin the prepping and scheduling to install the top coat.
On the underside, we ran into a bit of delay with the contractor installing the new concrete on 2p. They are about one week behind. However, we have been assured they expect to be completed and out of the 1p garage on Tuesday October 28th. After that time, parkers who have been displaced should be able to return to their regular spots. We will obviously be in touch with those parkers once we are certain.
