Membrane installation is finally underway though it has been somewhat hampered by the wet weather. Masonry repairs are also continuing, and the contractor is awaiting the delivery of new brick for the repair areas. Obviously not all of the old brick was recoverable so some new brick will be mixed in with what they are able to save.
If weather cooperates, they can complete the waterproof membrane within the next week. Once the membrane is done they can begin installing the topping slab, drain covers, lighting and other finishes.
Still to come, forms will be installed for the ADA compliant ramp and stairs at the driveway side, as well as for rebuilding the stairs on the plaza on the commercial side. On the plaza side though, as we have learned, ComEd will be replacing the roof over the vault that serves Park Tower. This may delay some of the work along the walls and stairs, and as we previously reported the sidewalk may be closed for several weeks. This is still awaiting a permit, and once that is issued we should have a better idea of the timeline.
