Despite some uncooperative weather, the team doing the planter work has made significant progress. This week they are focused on removing the old liner and doing repairs as needed. This could be noisy and dusty from time to time.
Barring adverse weather conditions, workers will begin the planned project to replace the liners in the 2 center planters and pond, and the crescent shaped planter. This includes removing all the trees, shrubs and soil, so the contractor can access the deck below. They will remove the old liner, install a new one, and then return the soil and install new plantings.
From start to finish they expect the process to take about 6 to 8 weeks. During this time, access around these planters and the deck may be limited from time to time. The liner in the pond is being replaced, so the fish will have a temporary home for the duration of the project. And, as with the first phase of this project in 2017, the trees cannot be replanted. New trees, shrubs and perennials will be put in place.
If you do access the deck during this time, please use caution around the work areas. Please do not tamper with any tools or materials, and avoid interrupting the workers while they are busy making this improvement. If you do have any questions about the work, do not hesitate to visit or contact the office.
For the first 2 to 3 weeks, from about April 1st through April 19th – weather permitting, there will be noise as they remove the old trees and plantings, and then drilling and scraping as they remove the old liner and conduct any maintenance needed to the concrete, drains and conduit inside the planter. They will not work in adverse weather conditions, which would delay the process by however long the weather interferes.
SMOKERS…please continue to use the far East corner, closest to the park, by the circle planter. If access is obstructed during the course of the work, our apologies. You will have to find an alternative location outdoors.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding, while this important project is completed.
