Just a few of the words used in complaints to the office about people and cars parked in the driveway blocking traffic. And usually it’s because someone is on their cell phone.
Parkers – please do not stop in the driveway to make phone calls – or for any reason except to stop at the stop sign briefly before proceeding. Not only is it an inconvenience of the people driving behind you, this is a fire lane and there is no parking allowed except for loading and unloading at the docks. Not only that, it can be very dangerous.
If someone behind you becomes impatient, and tries to pass, visibility around the vehicle can be difficult and accidents can happen. Worse yet, bikers and pedestrians – sometimes children – are often present, and an accident could be quite serious.
But aside from these obvious safety concerns, it is very discourteous to your neighbors and fellow drivers.
Please do not park in the driveway to make cell phone calls, view the scenery or to conduct any business, which results in blocking folks behind you. Parkers in the PTCA garage can expect a not-so-friendly letter from the office if your vehicle is identified as just such a culprit.
