Our staff will contact residents in person when we are aware of excessive packages, or packages that have been hanging out for a long time. But because there is no staff stationed in the room, and because services like AMAZON can sometimes make deliveries in excess of 100 packages a day, they can add up quick and without an opportunity for us to address at all.
Packages arrive at such an accelerated rate this time of year, it can be all but impossible for our staff and volunteers to keep up with sorting. Obviously, everyone is equally THANKFUL TO OUR VOLUNTEERS who assist with sorting. If you arrive in the room and find there has been a delivery that is not sorted, it would be very helpful to alert the staff. Although it can not be a priority for our team, we will do our best to coordinate sorting. In the absence of help, we sympathize with any inconvenience you experience locating your package.
HAVE SOME TIME TO HELP? We can always use more help:
1. Anytime of day there are unsorted packages, we welcome help. The critical times of day are between 10am and 12pm and 3pm and 5am. Though, sadly it is not always possible to target. Especially this time of year and especially considering the volume of deliveries from AMAZON.
2. If you plan to lend a hand, follow the posted instructions. But most importantly, please use care and caution. Handle and treat packages as if they are your own.
3. Be aware of PERISHABLES. Any deliveries our commercial refrigerator can accommodate, we would like to. If our team is alerted to a perishable delivery that can not fit, a member of the staff can attempt to contact that resident.
While there is a lot of space, packages that sit there for days on end can cause our sorters and your neighbors just trying to find their package, a great deal of frustration. And with particular emphasis to those who receive multiple packages at a time, if they sit there for an extended period, it is an inconvenience to everyone. Please be good neighbors and retrieve your deliveries as quickly as you are able.
Timely pick up is just one of a handful of policies and good common sense courtesy to help maintain a positive experience for all Park Tower residents. Here are the other the policies presently in place by resolution of the Board:
