For details on the changes, including the 3.8% assessment adjustment, parking fee increases, cable and internet and more Click Here. Owners and parkers will notice adjustments to their March statements to reflect the increase in assessments and their respective increases for parking and other ancillary fees that are changing.
IF YOU MAKE AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS, particularly if you make payments through your own bank, please remember to adjust the dollar amounts accordingly. If you still pay by personal check, there are options that can save you time by signing up to make electronic payments through the Habitat Company. See more about that at the Payment Basics link below.
If your autopay is configured through Habitat’s RentCafe Owner Portal, you need to verify the “Max Payment Amount”. This needs to be at least as much as your recurring monthly payments. (If you also have parking or the $2 statement fee, remember to account for that. You can also type “0” or leave that field blank. And then your autopay will always pay your balance in full each month. After you make changes, you will need to set a new start date at least 1 day in the future. Then be sure to save the new settings. If your autopay is set too low, you will underpay your assessments, which can trigger late fees.
Any questions or need technical assistance? Please contact our bookkeeper Danny Bravman at dbravman@habitat.com. Also contact Danny if you are interested in starting online payment, either for autopay or 1-time payments. We are strongly encouraging Owners to switch to electronic options, particularly because of the worsening USPS issues we have observed in recent years. The mail is just no longer reliable, as it used to be. If you have any questions about setting up electronic payments or your assessment account, feel free to e-mail Danny.
