CTA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:

OVERNIGHT WORK MAY 23-JUNE 3

Overnight Work on CTA Red-Purple Line

Dates: Tues, May 23 to Sat, June 3, 2023
(excluding Memorial Day weekend Sat, May 27 to Mon, May 29)

Location: Red-Purple Line elevated structure behind 4700 – 5268 N. Winthrop Ave (W. Leland Avenue to W. Berwyn Avenue)

Work Hours: 8pm to 8am (Prep work will begin at least 1⁄2 hour prior to start of shift)

Details: Crews will be working north to south, destressing the tracks. There will be noise while work is being performed, including nighttime noise. Noise will include:

General construction noise
Beeping from backup alarms on maintenance equipment and vehicles
There will be smoke from welding in the work area
There will be light in the work area
