While the lockdown has been tough on everyone, and we certainly understand and sympathize with parents who have restless little ones, using these devices or playing in these locations is not permitted. The lobby is intended for traffic only going to and from the outdoors, front desk and mailboxes. And the mall area is a place of business. Even in the evening hours or overnight when there is little personnel present, the space is not a playground.
Also, using this space for playing is not the safest and there is potentially liability to the Association and Owners should someone be injured in someway. Despite the likely low probability of something bad happening, it is too late once unintended mishaps occur.
From the Association’s Rules and Regulations, page 15, “Bicycles are not to be ridden in the building. Residents shall walk their bicycles into and out of the building.” Also, from page 24, “Bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards, scooters and similar equipment shall not be used in the Lobby, mall or other common areas inside the building.”
The safest and most considerate thing for parents and their little ones to do, and the most respectful towards our businesses in the mall and other folks coming and going, is to play and ride our bikes and other such devices outside. And our apologies during bad weather, but there is no exception to this requirement.
Thank you.
