No Heating or AC service will be available to the building while work is underway.
A valve isolating a line serving a Heating and Cooling riser was found malfunctioning, and at risk of causing leaking or flooding. Our team scheduled the necessary work for Thursday October 20th. Because of the weather we’ve been having they are keeping a close eye on the forecast, so this is subject to change. However, it is our goal to do it now to avoid a complete failure in the middle of the winter.
To complete this work, the Heating and Cooling System for the whole building will need to be shut down to isolate and remove the existing valve and install the new one. This is expected to occur between 8am and 5pm, and with luck we will only be without service for a few hours.
As most can imagine, shutting the buildings heat down in the middle of the winter is something we would like to avoid. Right now, temperatures next week are forecast to be cool, but nothing like what we could expect mid-winter. So, now is the time.
If any expectations change, we will update this post.
