This story was edited at the time of posting (March 2, 2015) to accurately describe progress with website enhancements.
As it matures, our website gains features and functionality. To see for yourself, read the rest of this story online, at www.ptcondo.com where you can check some of them them out for yourself.
1. Speed
Registered users, and others who’ve visit from time-to-time, will notice instantly a dramatic increase in server speed. The website has now been relocated to its own server, thus permitting faster navigation from one webpage to another.
2. Commenting
Notice that this story, read online, ends with a Comments section. While all readers may view comments, only registered users of the website may post them. Another good reason to login and register with a user name and password of your choice.
To read other stories originally published in TowerTalk, click on the “News” tab. Most stories will have this Commenting feature, but some may not. It’s really up the author. One more thing: You may Comment on a Comment, a pretty neat feature called “nesting.”
You may remember that initially there was a “Discussions” tab. With little traffic in this area, that tab has been removed for now. But for stories that elicit many — and nested — comments, perhaps we’ll shift them over to a reactivated Discussions area, where thoughts and opinions can be more fully developed.
3. Management & Staff
From the “People” tab select Management & Staff. There you will find photos and brief remarks about the leadership here at Park Tower. We had hoped to have all employees on this webpage by March 1, but we’re a bit behind. Please check back towards the end of the week.
4. Park Tower Real Estate
Real estate transactions of several kinds will also, in coming weeks, be added under the website’s “Building” tab. We plan to list ..
– Units recently sold
– Units for sale
– Units for rent
While we will be drawing from Multiple Listing Service (MLS) data, owners wishing to sell or rent are welcome to send information directly to news@ptcondo.com.
5. Leasing Waitlist
Beginning March 1, 2015, no new units (not currently being leased) may be offered for lease until the percentage of such units falls to 30% or below. (The rule itself may be found in the Rules & Regulations Handbook, available from the Management Office.)
Owners who wish to newly lease their units will be placed on a Leasing Waitlist, their position on that list determined by the date listed. A copy of the Waitlist (coded for anonymity) will be maintained under the “Building” tab on the website. With several names already, the list will be up by week’s end.
6. Garage Waitlist
Similarly, under the “Building” tab will be another waitlist, this one for owners and residents awaiting parking privileges on levels 1P and 2P. Please check back; this list should be in place within a few days.
7. Library
Currently we have to return to the Draper & Kramer website (DKCondo.com) to read and download documents. It has been challenging to design a Library section that allows full “search” by text, reading online, downloading, and the other enhancements we envisage.
So this is a heads-up. We’re making good progress and expect the “Library” section of our website to be available within by the end of May, maybe sooner.
A very significant amount of work went into developing these new online assets. Hats off to David Nicosia and William Kay, our website gurus.
Also, please note that enhancements like real estate listings and waitlists require hands-on effort. Our News and Social Media Committee has only four members at this time, scarcely adequate for the new and improved TowerTalk publication, a developing website, and planned forays into building messaging and Facebook. Volunteer now by emailing news@ptcondo.com.
