About a year ago, Martha Mills led a “Peace Circle” in our Party Room for residents interested in Restorative Justice (RJ). The meeting was very well-attended, and by the time we finished virtually everyone had been deeply drawn into the conversation. Judge Mills is a twice-retired judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County who frequently recommended the RJ approach and now instructs others in how best to use it.
In this evening’s meeting, Martha will invite folks to share whatever has been on their minds lately – good or bad, serious or funny. What have you liked or disliked about the “lockdown?” What would you advise if there is (heaven forbid!) another lockdown? Would you like to talk about events post George Floyd’s death reopening of the discussion about racism and other discrimination in this country? Are there other current topics you would be interested in discussing?
