Our team will be working over the next week or so to try and resolve this, but if you do experience a problem with your fob, do not hesitate to contact us at 773-769-3250, or via e-mail at parktowercondo-mgmt@habitat.com. Fortunately, you do not have to actually be in the office or give us your fob to resolve this issue. We can do it remotely.
The fobs have to have a manual expiration date, and as a rule we have always used a 1 year expiration for renters and a 3 year expiration for Unit Owners. This is a long term layer of security, to help us make sure over time the fobs don’t find their way into other hands. Over the years, this has REPEATEDLY been shown to be a wise and helpful policy, as we’ve identified people with fobs who should not have them.
Part of the problem is that Unit Owners in particular were not set with the correct expiration and they running into unexpected obstacles as they are coming and going. We are trying to find a way to correct this before it becomes a problem for everyone, but definitely contact us if get stopped. We will get it corrected.
We apologize to anyone who experiences this problem and is frustrated or inconvenienced by being stopped unexpectedly.
