As originally posted, our team attempted to rebuild a valve which helps control the temperature of hot water serving the High Rise portion of the building from the 30th to 55th floors. This was originally scheduled overnight on January 22nd. However, previously unknown conditions were found, and the team was forced to stop and unable to complete the work.
A solution has been identified, and the hot water line will need to be isolated one more time. This is planned for Thursday February 4th beginning at 10pm, and the plumber expects the work to take no more than 8 hours. Our goal is to have the hot water back on by 6am on Friday February 5th.
Barring further problems, we feel good this will be the last time we need to address this issue.
This valve which helps regulate the temperature of hot water to all the high rise units has been malfunctioning, and once this work is completed it will help our team better regulate hot water service going forward.
We apologize for the continued inconvenience, and thank everyone for your patience and understanding.
As the old valve being repaired was being taken apart, conditions were found inside that prevented the work from being 100% completed. The team is presently devising a strategy to address the additional conditions found, and working on a plan to complete the work.
At some point the additional work needed will result in another shut down. We’ve been told the work needed may also be very noisy so doing it overnight may not be a reasonable option. However, once we know the details and times, follow up notice will be posted.
HIGH ZONE RESIDENTS, from the 30th to 55th floors, STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES!
To accommodate a planned repair to a mixing valve serving all high rise units from the 30th to 55th floors, the hot water line will need to be isolated and hot water will not be available between the hours of 12AM and 8AM on Friday January 22nd. This valve which helps regulate the temperature of hot water to all the high rise units has been malfunctioning, and this work will help our team better regulate hot water service going forward.
WE SUGGEST, residents avoid using the hot water during this time if at all possible. By doing so, it will shorten the time necessary to re-heat the water when the work is completed.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding while our team performs this important repair. Please contact the Management Office at 773-769-3250 or via e-mail at parktowercondo-mgmt@habitat.com, with any questions.
