The holiday shopping season is officially here with bright lights and great deals. It is a wonderful time of the year for both our retailers and consumers. The Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) has important holiday shopping and safety tips to protect everyone.
Know Before You Shop This Holiday Season will give you great shopping tips and prepare you for a safe and enjoyable shopping season. Information includes gift card rules, store policies, receipts and hidden fees.
Online holiday shopping allows shoppers to avoid lines
and crowds, but don’t forget this too can be a place for fraud and cyber criminals. The
Know Before You Shop Online for the Holidays flyer educates all consumers to ensure all websites are reputable and to keep a record of all online purchases.
Don’t fall victim to any fraud this holiday season. BACP protects consumers from deception and fraud in the marketplace and urges consumers to file a complaint when they are defrauded or scammed. BACP promotes
consumer awareness to help consumers protect themselves.
