The board at condo association’s such as Park Tower may create and appoint persons to a “commission”. These are groups of owners (or others including residents, and renters or professionals) which act as a task force or advisory body to do research and gather information to make recommendations for association business, activities and improvements. At Park Tower, they are referred to as our “committees”.
Committees are a critically important part of the process in conducting business at Park Tower. Since the recommendations are being made by owners other than Board Members, it helps insure that owners voices are being heard and considered when decisions are being made that effect the building and its finances. Not only that, but some committees are tasked with special projects or specific tasks the Board identifies.
At the December 14th Board Meeting, management presented a request from a Unit Owner that we form a “Green Committee” to help make recommendations to the Board on sustainability related issues – to help reduce PTCA’s carbon footprint, as they say. The Board agreed, and directed we make a call for volunteers.
