As with the mobile grills, reservations can be made with the front desk where there is a form to fill out.

Grill Station Rules and Instructions 2021
The Home Improvement Commission will be considering recommendations for updated policies and procedures now that these are in place and can be operated. In the interim, we’ve put the following set of user instructions together (also included on page 2 of the above document):
Using The Safety Feature
First activate the Safety Timer on the right side of the grill station:
To turn off the timer, simply let it expire, or press RED knob inward until it stops. DO NOT FORCE the timer dial to the off position.
Using The Grill
Open the hood before lighting; DO NOT attempt to ignite burners while the hood is closed.
CAUTION: Always wait five (5) minutes for gas to clear after any unsuccessful lighting attempt
Pre-heating
Pre-heating your grill every time you use it is extremely important. Pre-heating allows the grill and metal to properly heat up, providing more even and more consistent cooking results. Preheat your grill by igniting all main burners. Then close the hood and allow the grill to heat for 10 to 15 minutes. Once you’ve reached your desired pre-heat temperature, turn off the burners that you won’t be using to cook your food. Remember, surface temperature can be up to 200° higher.

Cleaning Instructions
Installation of the framework and the grills themselves is anticipated, and they will be inspected when the work is done this weekend. However, due to the finishing work needed, and a delay in the arrival of some of the stonework, they probably will not be prepared or stable enough for use.
STAY TUNED – the rest of the materials are expected to be in and installed within the next 3 weeks. Not in time for the July 4th holiday, but still much of the summer remains for their use.
They are scheduled for installation on June 25th and 26th – Friday and Saturday.
A project about 3 years in the making, and postponed by the pandemic last year, these 7′ islands will be made of (2) 42″ bases, stone exteriors and granite counter tops. One will have an inset grill on the left hand side and one on the right hand side. They will use propane tanks that will be stocked and supplied by the staff as the mobile grills are now.
The grills themselves are commercial grade – not just something for a typical outdoor grill setting. More durable and reliable as we understand it. Also, easier to maintain over time than the grills that get wheeled around the deck.
Here you see a rendering of the location. The actual grills are inset in the island where the red box is located. The stations are closest to the string lights adjacent to the middle planter and along the corner of the building next to The Breakers rear exterior parking lot. The counterspace next to the grill itself is intended to be closer to the tables for convenience. The string lights will be able to provide some some artificial lighting for grilling later in the evening.
The rules and procedures for use won’t change, but this will ease some of the delay from the existing grills. The team will leave a couple of the old grills accessible, for use at the far east corner of the deck, if necessary.
Our whole team from the Commission to the Board and the staff believe this is a big plus for the deck and a value added amenity for Owners and Residents.
These should be ready for use prior to the 4th of July! ENJOY! 🙂
