PTCA 2023 Green Week Calendar of Events

Monday April 17th – Electronics Recycling Begins

Cardboard bins for collection will be adjacent to the Security Office by the back dock exit, for recycling and safe disposal of electronics. Computers, tvs, phones, radios and stereos, audio and video equipment, etc.

Tuesday April 18th – Safe Disposal of Household Products Bins

Household products, chemicals, painting supplies, old building materials, carpeting and other similar materials will be recycled or safely disposed of. Drop offs large grey Rubbermaid bin by Security Office.

Wednesday April 19th – 6pm – Composting

Block Bins composting service is now available to Park Tower. Learn how the service works and some of the basics as well as the DOs and DON’Ts of composting, with a Block Bins representative via ZOOM.

Thursday April 20th – Bike or Mass Transit To Work Day!

Let’s make it a group effort! Avoid taking that car out – take your Bike or a Divvy, or CTA to work and back!

Friday April 21st – Bike Registration and Tune-Ups

Bike spaces are available, first come first serve – $48 for the top rack and $60 for the bottom. If you already have a spot, you’ll need your 2023 sticker by April 28th. Contact Kirsty in the office at kevans@habitat.com for details. Also, get your annual maintenance done. Bike Tune-Ups with Joe, of ‘On The Fly Bike Repair’! The mobile shop is expected on the loading dock 4 to 8pm. For current pricing contact Joe at 847-436-2453 or visit his website at https://www.ontheflychicago.net/ . For more visit his facebook page – just search “On The Fly Bicycle Repair”. For your convenience, you can set up an appointment by dropping him a line. Otherwise, just show up and drop your bike off. But he gets busy so drop off by 7pm. He will contact you when it is ready for pick up. 

Saturday April 22nd – Rummage Sale, Knife Sharpening, Bikes & Shredding

The Annual Mall Area Rummage Sale returns from 9am to 3pm, including Knife Sharpening. Contact the Management Office by April 20th to reserve a table – first come first serve, otherwise BYOT. The Mobile Shredder will be here 1:30 to 4:30pm, near the loading dock on the driveway at the rear of building. Bike Tune-Ups will continue with Joe of ‘On The Fly Bike Repair’. We expect him to set up shop at the loading dock area at rear of building from 10am to 2pm or later. Please drop off your bike by 1pm to insure he can finish for you by days end. You can ask questions or make an appointment with him at 847-436-2453.
