UPDATE Friday April 22nd

Joe with On The Fly Bike Repair has had to cancel Friday’s visit.

Therefore there will be no Bike Tune-up Service Friday April 22nd.

He has  he will be able to make it on Saturday April 23rd for the planned service between 9am to 4pm.

He explained he did have a mechanical issue with the truck which and is was in the shop for service on Friday. Thankfully he received confirmation the work was completed this afternoon, so he will be here on Saturday as planned. That with the turbulent weather are experiencing this afternoon (Friday), make it very bad timing to for tune-ups.

Bike Storage Room Parkers – Remember, you do need to coordinate with the office for this years reservation and to receive a new decal.

Monday April 18th – Electronics Recycling Begins

Bins for electronics collections will be available adjacent to the Security Office by the back dock exit, for recycling and safe disposal of electronics. Computers, tvs, radios and stereos, audio and video equipment.

Tuesday April 19th – Safe Disposal of Household Products Bins

Household products, chemicals, painting supplies, old building materials, carpeting and other similar materials will be recycled or safely disposed of. Drop offs will be accepted in the large grey Rubbermaid bin next to the Security Office window at the back of the building.

Wednesday April 20th – 6pm – Composting Seminar

Block Bins are available at Park Tower. Learn how to join up, how the service works and some of the basics as well as the DOs and DON’Ts of composting. VIA ZOOM MEETINGS ONLINE

Thursday April 21st – Bike or Mass Transit To Work!

Let’s make it a group effort! Avoid taking that car out – take your bike or a Divvy, or CTA to work and back! 

Friday April 22nd – Bike Registration Deadline and Tune-Ups

Make sure your 2022 registration is completed, and if you’re new – FIRST COME FIRST SERVE for a bike space in the bike room. Contact Josh in the office at jwold@habitat.com for details. Also, get your annual maintenance done. Bike Tune-Ups with Joe, of ‘On The Fly Bike Repair’! The mobile shop will be set up on the loading dock 4 to 8pm. For your convenience, you can set up an appointment by dropping him a line. Otherwise, just show up and drop your bike off. But he gets busy so drop off by 7pm. He will contact you when it is ready for pick up. 

Saturday April 23rd – Bikes, Rummage Sale, Knife Sharpening & Bulk Shredding

The Annual Rummage Sale returns in the Mall area (if the pandemic allows), from 9am to 3pm, including Knife Sharpening. Contact the Management Office by April 21st to reserve a table – first come first serve, otherwise BYOT. The Mobile Shredder will be here 1:30 to 4:30pm, near the loading dock on the driveway at the rear of building. THIS YEAR THE SHREDDER CAN ALSO DO HARD DRIVE DISC DESTRUCTION!  Bike Tune-Ups will continue with Joe of ‘On The Fly Bike Repair’. We expect him to set up shop at the loading dock area at rear of building from 9am to 2pm or later. Please drop off your bike by 1pm to insure he can finish for you by days end.
