That is not the case. The Association was not asked to address or pay for any such repairs. Also, though the equipment is in the space, it is not the Association’s property; it is a part of the business operation. They were owned by the previous operator and are now owned by Go Grocer’s operator through their purchase of the operation. Therefore, being a private business it would not be an appropriate use of Unit Owner assessments to repair a private businesses equipment. Such equipment could be repaired and then the business owner could remove them tomorrow.
The most we are able to say about their possible coming closing, is that the operators who run the store are unable to continue doing business for reasons outside of their control – it is more a private business matter between the operators.
Due to events and conditions outside of their control, Go Grocer reported they will be winding down operations and eventually closing their doors. The operator gave notice to the Board that under their present circumstances, they have no choice but to cease operation. Unfortunately it’s our understanding that there are no steps the Board can take to reverse the situation. They reported they will keep operating as long as they can, and once we have an actual closing date we will let everyone know.
We are sad to see them go. The Board will be considering options for future operation of the space.
