Preparatory work for the repairs will start on Tuesday 9-23-14 and Wednesday 9-24-14 from floors 43 to 49. Workers will be opening the walls and getting these locations ready for work to be performed. Then, the chute will be closed from 43 through 55 on Thursday the 25th through Friday the 26th while they are doing work in the garbage chute cavity. On these days they will be installing the new chute assembly. We expect the chute to re-open sometime on Friday and be available for use over the weekend.
On the following Tuesday 9-30-14 and Wednesday 10-01-14 the repair work to the wall openings is expected to be completed. However the chute should be available for use even while work is being done on the floors.
For the safety of the workers, and so we can coordinate this work quickly and safely, please obey any signage and heed any warnings from workers that may be present.
While the chutes are closed, we will provide bins for garbage to be dropped off. However, out of respect for your neighbors and fellow residents, we request that any messy or smelly garbage be taken all the way down and out of building to the large dumpster at the back of the loading dock.
