MUCH MORE DETAILED INFORMATION IS EXPECTED TO COME, but what we know now:
We tentatively expect to begin the Phase 1 of the Garage Resurfacing and Membrane Replacement Project on Monday August 3rd. Our team met with the contractor on Friday June 26th, and based on that meeting we are awaiting a formal revised schedule for Phase 1 through Phase 8. We are hopeful we will be able to complete about half of the project this fall, and half next spring, since we would pause the project again to avoid the cold and bad weather of winter.
Once we’ve received the details, notices will begin going out to parkers.
ALSO – to help as a refresher, we’ve scheduled a Virtual Town Hall Meeting via ZOOM online for Monday July 20th at 7pm. Information and instructions on participating in this meeting will be included in the notices and postings expected to come.
ORIGINAL POST February 27th
1. The biggest piece of news is obviously the new start date of Wednesday April 1st. Secondary to that, Phase 3 is now split in half. For more information about this, how it impacts the timing, and greater detail, Click Here
2. PDFs of the Town Hall Presentation are now available. For those who were unable to attend one of the meetings, or even those who just want a refresher, a PDF version of our presentation can be reviewed and downloaded for everyone’s review in 2 parts: Town Hall Part 1 Town Hall Part 2
3. While the contractor plans to take several steps to reduce the generation of dust the repairs may cause, it will be dustier than usual in the garage. Car Covers will now be available both from the Garage Office and the Management Office, by the end of this week – Friday March 6th.
4. VALET PARKERS – you do not have self-park spots so you do not have to plan the relocation of your car at this time. As of now, we are planning to absorb all valet for the duration of the project. WHAT YOU DO HAVE TO PREPARE FOR THOUGH, are delays and longer wait times. Our team will have many more cars to handle, and a lot less space to maneuver and park valet vehicles. Please plan extra time coming and going.
5. GUEST PARKING, is expected to be very limited for the duration of the project. Expecting visitors or guests, we strongly recommend you call ahead. The garage office can be reached at 773-271-8859. You can also reach out to the office. If you plan any events or parties, definitely communicate with our team well in advance.
6. While we’ve told 2P parkers they need to be out for 3 days at the start of the project, please understand it is possible you will need to be out longer. Once vehicles are moved, the construction team will know with more certainty what to expect with any additional repairs. Our staff will contact 2p parkers who may need to relocate for longer to accommodate more repair work.
7. Though actual working hours will be approximately 9 to 5 Monday thru Friday, vehicle relocation is necessary 24 hours per day for the duration of each phase. Parkers can not return overnight or over the weekends, until it has been communicated that your phase is completed.
8. ON DAY 1 OF EACH PHASE, please plan to have your vehicle removed by 9am. Sooner would be very helpful.
